Writing
Finding the Right Words for the Audience
With a quick wit, careful attention to detail, a love for clear description, and a firm belief in the Oxford comma, I've written everything from marketing copy and feature stories to three years' worth of pharmaceutical standard operating procedures.
The subject, format, and voice may change, but my approach starts in the same place: What is the story here, who am I talking to, what do they need to understand or feel, and what's the clearest—or occasionally funniest—way to get them there?
Selected Writing
⟡ Marketing & Brand Writing
Writing designed to inform, persuade, engage, and move an audience toward action.
2% Campaign Instagram Copy
Social Copy · Arts Marketing · Campaign Voice · Promotional Writing · Calls to Action
Developed in collaboration with the show's playwright, producer, and performer, these samples of social copy for 2%'s Edinburgh Fringe campaign extend the production's playful “roadshow” identity into a consistent verbal voice across static promotional posts and short-form video for Instagram. Captions balance humor, campaign-specific wordplay, and conversational hooks with practical performance information, calls to action, collaborator promotion, and audience-discovery hashtags.
Miniatures by Laurie Jacoby
Collaborative Writing · Copy Editing · Artist Storytelling · Voice Development
Working from miniature artist Laurie Jacoby's original drafts, ideas, and experiences, I edited, expanded, and refined contest submissions and interview responses to strengthen their structure, descriptive detail, confidence, and professional polish while preserving the artist's authentic voice. Selected work includes the First Place-winning Social Distance submission for the 2020 Miniatures.com Creatin’ Contest and Honorable Mention-winning Pam's Pots Studio submission in 2021.

Social Copy · Content Ideation · B2B/B2C Writing · Financial Services
Proposed LinkedIn content for Angel Oak Home Loans, identifying audience-relevant angles that connected mortgage products and homeownership to topics ranging from self-employed creatives to realtor client engagement and sustainable moving. Drafts were created for internal review; concepts selected for publication were subject to substantial editing and final approval by the Marketing Communications Director.

Not-so “Big” Ben Hopeful for Grand Prize
Academic Feature Writing · Publication Research · Pitch Writing · Interviewing
Developed as a complete feature-writing submission package targeting American Miniaturist Magazine, including publication and audience research, contributor-guideline analysis, a query letter, original interview reporting, a 1,000+ word feature story, captioned photography, and source documentation. The feature profiles miniature artist Laurie Jacoby and the creation of The Halls of Time, her elaborate 2023 Creatin’ Contest entry.
Time is ticking for final entries to miniatures.com’s 30th Annual Creatin’ Contest. From her home workshop in Holly Springs, Georgia, a 1:12 scale replica of the iconic London clock tower chimes every quarter hour. Those tiny bells will soon ring in victory, hopes miniaturist Laurie Jacoby.
⟡ Technical & Instructional Writing
Making complex information clear.
Pharmaceutical Technical Writing
SOP Development · Batch Record Optimization · Process Documentation · Copy Editing · Document Control
For three years, I developed, revised, formatted, and maintained pharmaceutical manufacturing standard operating procedures and supporting documentation, translating complex operational processes into clear, structured instructions while working within established document-control and regulatory requirements. My work received three consecutive Exceeds Expectations performance evaluations, and I was recognized as Employee of the Month for project communications and supplementary guide contributions to a site-wide ERP implementation.
Because this work contains confidential and proprietary information, original documentation is not reproduced here. Professional references from my work in the pharmaceutical industry are available upon request.
Lounging in Luxury: A Miniature Chaise Lounge Tutorial
Instructional Writing · Copy Editing · Process Documentation · Collaborative Writing
Working from miniature artist Laurie Jacoby's original construction process and draft, I walked through the project with her to identify missing details and potential points of confusion, then edited and expanded the instructions for clarity, sequencing, specificity, and consistency.
I also developed introductory and concluding copy to transform the working instructions into a complete reader-facing tutorial for publication in American Miniaturist.
Words With a Purpose
Sometimes the job is finding the hook. Sometimes it's finding the right voice. Sometimes it's taking everything someone meant to say and helping them say it better. And sometimes it's explaining a complicated process so clearly that nobody has to ask what Step 4 means.
That's the kind of writing I like: clear, audience-aware, adaptable, and human.
